Starting 2024 off on the Right Foot

As pictured above, I quite literally started this year off (standing) on the right foot.

The ceremonial turning of the calendar page into a brand new year, and even more satisfyingly, stepping into January 1st on a Monday, felt so especially incredible this year.

Without hesitation, I dove into 2024 with a clear vision for a brand new endeavor, avec Productions, Inc., the 501(c)(3) I founded in January of this year. avec’s mission is to advance and support the careers of NYC-based independent performing artists by offering community-driven opportunities for growth and discovery. Coming up, the Spring Workshop Series, featuring Hip-Hop, Heels and Vogue dance workshops, lead by a dynamic group of teachers, will be held in Manhattan at Abrons Arts Center, Gibney and Ripley Grier Studios throughout February and March.

The goal of every avec project is to bring artists together to dance, learn and grow with their fellow community members. The upcoming May 2024 Performance Event and Party will kick off NYC’s Springtime rooftop season with the hype of a great playlist, plenty of tasty bites and cute, floral libations, but infused with the artistry of live dance performance. The party will be avec’s first fundraiser, with a total goal of $20,000 to fund startup and general operating costs.

I’m looking forward to what’s next and am grateful for the gracious dedication of every person who attends a workshop, parties at avec’s events and gives their time, energy and support to this organization.
